I feel bad I've been depriving all of my loyal followers of my off-beat adventures for two years now. Well, this isn't quite my victorious return, but I've been feeling extra introspective over the last little while, so I should get some thoughts down before I forget them all. First, I know that everyone has been complaining about how the summer's been too short, it's rained too much, there's been too much work, etc. Personally, my summer's been fantabulous. Pretty damn fantabulous. Yes, work's been really busy, but that's how I can afford to do the things I do. Yes, it's rained a lot, but I like the rain. Really. I like being able to walk outside, sans umbrella, watching everyone looking SOOOO uncomfortable with the water droplets bouncing off their heads, while i have this goofy smile on my face (hmmm..sadistic much?). Rain is only inconvenient when you have somewhere to go to and you don't want to get your hair or clothes ruined. Good thing i've been light on the black tie events for the past few months. Anyway, in no particular order, here are some things i would like to remember about summer 2008. - visiting my bro in Vancouver
- amazing vacation to Spain (i'll be back..promise!)
- Rock the Bells 2008 (ATCQ + Nas + Red and Meth + Rakim + De la soul + Pharcyde + etc = long day, but awesome show)
- Beats, Breaks and Culture festival
- Buskerfest
- Tasty Thursdays
- hanging out with my awesome friends, and making some new friends along the way.
- dancing till the sun comes up
- wandering of random downtown alleys to appreciate toronto's fantastic street art scene
- many many good food and drink adventures (patios, bbqs, general after work foolishness)
- Blue Jays baseball games
- my once-every-three-years camping trip
- shootaround sessions at an empty schoolyard
- annual visit to the CNE
- first ever decent round of golf
- the daily randomness that is my life Alright, summer's not even officially done yet, so I'm going to stop with the reminiscing. No amount of superlatives can properly articulate how utterly awesome my life is. I really hope that everyone out there had as a great of a time as I have over the last few months. If not, you should hang out with ME a little more!
